endured millennia.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.

The LORD is my light and my salvation — whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life — of whom shall I be afraid?

If God is for us, who can be against us?

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.

Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.

This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.

Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good.

Love never fails.

Above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: I have loved you with an everlasting love.

How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!

Do everything in love.

Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

And walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us.

My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.

Hatred stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.

Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins.

Love is the fulfillment of the law.

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?

I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God.

Let all that you do be done in love.

The greatest commandment: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.

Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Love is the bond of perfect unity.

Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.

Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.

In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else.

Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.

I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord's holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.

Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him.

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love.

Though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, but he who restrains his lips is wise.

The heart of the righteous weighs its answers, but the mouth of the wicked gushes evil.

Meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.

I have stilled and quieted my soul; like a weaned child with its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me.

Your beauty should not come from outward adornment... Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit.

The effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever.

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

I say to the LORD, 'You are my God.' Hear, LORD, my cry for mercy. Sovereign LORD, my strong deliverer.'

In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.

Speak, LORD, for your servant is listening.

And after the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire a still small voice.

For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil.

Dishonest money dwindles away, but whoever gathers money little by little makes it grow.

A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.

Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven.

No one can serve two masters. You cannot serve both God and money.

Better is a little with the fear of the LORD than great treasure and trouble with it.

Whoever loves money never has enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with their income.

The blessing of the LORD makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.

Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops.

The rich and poor have this in common: The LORD is the Maker of them all.

Do not wear yourself out to get rich; do not trust your own cleverness.

Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle.

Godliness with contentment is great gain.

I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

My God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.

You may say to yourself, 'My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.' But remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.

Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.

Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.

Riches and honor are with me, enduring wealth and righteousness.

Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues with injustice.

The crown of the wise is their wealth, but the folly of fools brings folly.

A feast is made for laughter, wine makes life merry, and money is the answer for everything — but wisdom is better still.

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse... test me in this, says the LORD Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven.

It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.

Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value, but righteousness delivers from death.

Wealth obtained by fraud dwindles, but the one who gathers by labor increases it.

The sleep of a laborer is sweet, whether they eat little or much, but as for the rich, their abundance permits them no sleep.

A greedy man stirs up strife, but the one who trusts in the LORD will be enriched.

And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

He who has a slack hand becomes poor, but the hand of the diligent makes rich.

Whoever follows the LORD wholly will find that their bread and water are sure.

The righteous eat to their hearts' content, but the stomach of the wicked goes hungry.

One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty.

For wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.

But godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment.

Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God.

As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches.

By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.

Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth.

The plans of the diligent lead to profit as surely as haste leads to poverty.

A good person leaves an inheritance for their children's children.

Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.

For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving.

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.

The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests with the LORD.

Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

Let another praise you, and not your own mouth; someone else, and not your own lips.

For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there will be disorder and every vile practice.

Commit your works to the LORD, and your plans will be established.

The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, but time and chance happen to them all.

Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed.

So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing.

The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else.

For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man?

When you compete, compete for God's glory.

The LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.

But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, 'God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.'

The humble will be exalted and the exalted will be humbled.

With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

Train yourself to be godly. For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things.

Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD Almighty.

More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope.

The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.

You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth?

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure.

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life.

Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.

Fight the good fight of faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called.

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead.

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances.

The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace.

Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.

Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.

For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.

Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come.

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground.

Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

In your anger do not sin; do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.

Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — think about such things.

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.

How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver!

The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails.

But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy.

The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom, and his tongue speaks what is just.

A wise son brings joy to his father, but a foolish son brings grief to his mother.

Wisdom will save you from the ways of wicked men.

I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.

Store up for yourselves these words of mine in your heart and soul.

Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance.

Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.

The discerning heart seeks knowledge, but the mouth of a fool feeds on folly.

The heart of the intelligent acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

A rebuke impresses a discerning person more than a hundred lashes a fool.

The wise store up knowledge, but the mouth of a fool invites ruin.

Like the coolness of snow at harvest time is a trustworthy messenger to the one who sends him; he refreshes the spirit of his master.

There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight.

He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.

I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.

The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.

Where there is no vision, the people perish.

Whoever heeds discipline shows the way to life, but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.

Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still; teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.

The heart of the wise makes his speech judicious and adds persuasiveness to his lips.

The eyes of the LORD keep watch over knowledge, but he frustrates the words of the unfaithful.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!

Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.

Blessed is the one whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered.

Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.
