Engineering meets Thinking

About Me

I'm a deep thinker who finds joy in exploring ideas that sit at the intersection of technology, finance, and the human experience. Whether I'm unpacking the implications of a new machine learning model, tracing the trajectory of a promising startup, or reflecting on what good leadership really looks like — I'm always looking for the thread that connects the technical to the meaningful. This space is where those thoughts live. It's part notebook, part soapbox, and part conversation starter. I write for curious people who aren't afraid of complexity, but who also know that the best ideas are ultimately about people.

Background

God's Daughter, Follower of Saint Benedict.

CPP Investment, Quant, UofT Nanomaterial Researcher, Founder, Stanford GSB Executive Program, United Nations Global Compact Signatory.

Unprofessional Poet, Cellist, Ballerina, Vocalist, Pianist, Guitarist, Oil Painter, Diver, Pilates Coach. Mental

Therapist.

My path hasn't been a straight line — and I think that's what makes it interesting. I've moved across disciplines, languages, and perspectives, drawing from finance, technology, and the social sciences along the way. That breadth shapes how I think: I rarely look at a problem from just one angle, and I'm always more interested in the why behind something than the what.

Over the years, I've worked at the crossroads of quantitative thinking and big-picture strategy — the kind of work that demands both rigour and imagination. That tension is something I've come to love.

Other

Beyond the topics I write about, I'm endlessly curious about how the world is changing — and what that means for the people living through those changes. I believe that the most important conversations happening today aren't siloed into one field. They're sprawling, messy, and deeply interconnected. I try to reflect that in everything I write.

What I Write About

What I Write About

I cover a wide range of topics, but they all share a common thread: the future, and how we navigate it thoughtfully. Here's a closer look at the areas I return to most.

AI & Machine Learning

Artificial intelligence isn't just a technical story — it's a human one. I explore how AI and machine learning are reshaping industries, challenging our assumptions, and raising questions we're only beginning to know how to ask.

Venture Capital

Capital flows toward ideas, and ideas shape the world. I dig into the dynamics of venture capital — what gets funded, what doesn't, and what that tells us about where we're collectively placing our bets on the future.

Tech Startups

Startups are experiments in possibility. I'm fascinated by the cultures, decisions, and inflection points that determine whether a bold idea becomes a lasting company — or a cautionary tale.

Quantitative Finance

Numbers tell stories, if you know how to read them. I write about quantitative finance with an eye toward what the models reveal — and, just as importantly, what they obscure.

ESG Investing

The conversation around ESG is evolving fast, and the stakes are high. I examine how environmental, social, and governance factors are being woven into investment decisions, and what genuine accountability actually looks like.

Quantum Computing

Quantum computing sits at the edge of what's possible. I follow its development with the mix of excitement and patience it deserves — tracking real progress while cutting through the hype.

Green Technology

The climate challenge is also an innovation challenge. I write about the technologies, policies, and entrepreneurs working to build a more sustainable world — and the obstacles standing in the way.

Leadership

Leadership is one of those words that gets used so often it can lose its meaning. I try to reclaim it — exploring what it looks like to lead with clarity, empathy, and integrity in complex, fast-moving environments.

Mental Health

High performance and wellbeing aren't opposites — but our culture sometimes treats them that way. I write openly about mental health because I think it belongs in every serious conversation about how we work and live.

Beyond the Technical

Some of the most interesting insights come from unexpected places. I believe in reading widely, thinking slowly, and staying curious about the world outside any single industry or discipline. The best ideas I've encountered didn't come from staying in my lane — they came from wandering, connecting dots, and asking uncomfortable questions.

My Mission

I started writing because I needed a place to think out loud. What began as a personal practice has grown into something I hope is genuinely useful for others — a space where complex ideas are taken seriously but never made needlessly inaccessible.

My mission is simple: to write with honesty, depth, and care. To ask hard questions, sit with uncertainty, and share what I learn along the way. If something I write makes you think differently about a topic — even just a little — that's everything.

Blog Editor & Author

A Single Voice

In a world of algorithmic content and AI-generated noise, this is something a little different. Yes, I use automation to manage posts and this website—thoughtfully, intentionally, and without apology. The right tools free up space for the thinking that actually matters.

But behind every post is a single perspective, a consistent set of values, and a genuine point of view. Automation handles the repetitive; the ideas, the judgment, and the voice are always mine. I'm not trying to scale content — I'm trying to scale clarity.

That's the promise I make to every reader who finds their way here.
